Doorknob hole in a hallway
The most common call we get. A door swings open too hard and the knob punches through. We cut the damage back to clean board, back it, patch it, feather the compound wide enough that there's no bump, match the texture, and paint corner to corner so there's no fresh-paint halo. One visit, and the $299 wall patch and paint special usually covers it if the damage is under 2 ft by 2 ft — send a photo and we'll confirm.
Ceiling stain after an upstairs leak
Brown ring on the ceiling, sometimes with the drywall gone soft. Once the plumbing is fixed and the area is dry, we cut out the compromised board, replace it, tape and finish it, prime the stain so it can't bleed through, and match the ceiling texture. Painting over a water stain without a stain-blocking primer is why those rings keep coming back.
Nail pops across a bedroom ceiling
Rows of small round bumps, usually in a house that has settled. Filling them doesn't hold — the fastener has to be re-secured and the old one dealt with, then the spot is finished in coats and textured. Skipping that step is why they reappear a year later.
Popcorn ceiling removal in a 1980s ranch
Furniture out or covered, floors and walls masked, ceiling scraped, then skim-coated smooth, sanded and painted. On a house of that age we test or advise testing for asbestos first. If the material is positive, we say so and step aside — that job belongs to a licensed abatement contractor, not to us.
Whole-house interior repaint before listing
The order matters: repair everything first, then prime the repairs, then paint. Walls, ceilings, trim and doors. Sellers who paint over damage get it flagged in inspection anyway, and buyers notice the patches in listing photos more than they notice the color.
Kitchen cabinet refinish
Doors and drawer fronts removed and labelled, hardware off, everything degreased, sanded, primed and sprayed for a smooth finish rather than brushed. Open-grain woods like oak still show grain through paint — we tell people that before they commit, because it surprises them afterward.
Basement and garage finishing
New board hung, taped and finished to the level you need, then primed and painted. Garages and basements often only need Level 3 or 4; a smooth Level 5 finish costs more and matters most in rooms with big windows or lots of light raking across the wall.
Rental turnovers
Patch, texture, repaint, done on a schedule so the unit can be listed. Landlords and property managers are a steady part of our work because the turnaround is predictable and we handle drywall and paint in one trip.
